My biggest problem wasn't related to the modernity of my cellphones, it was about how the cellphone worked, i've always had cellphones with an awful audio, and a lot misunderstandings came with it: arguments with my parents when i went to parties, or when i went out to noisy places; and that kind of things im sure you understand.
it was a pink Samsung Star S5230.
I really like it, with 2GB of memory (supports up to 8gb in a mini-sd), mp3 player, a 3.2mp camera and bluetooth you can do wonderful things >
One thing that ROCK in the cellphone, is that it comes with an special menu with very useful installed widgets, to check your facebook, picasa, google, gmail and GOOGLE MAPS ( i love that one!) which is very helpful when you go out to some place you've never been in and you are on the bus and you do not know where you have to go down.
Is touchscreen, and if you turn in 90° it, when you are writting, you get a wonderful qwerty "key"board just for you >

well, i think those are the main reasons. i'll resume it as:
1- is pink
2- works properly (i listen very well, and LOUD)
3- 2gb memory
4- mp3 player
5- 3.2mp camera, with a lot of features (for being a cellphone camera, you know)
6- widgets installed
7- qwerty keyboard
I really think NOW my life wouldn't be the same, because i became accostumed to use the features as key parts of my life (for example, now i don't check directions or bus stops, i just take the bus and when i am on the bus i check where i need to go in google maps)
and that.
